He acts as a face for the department and serves as an important representative for the thousands of students and employees who Transportation Services interacts with.

Delling is known for his communication skills. He is always reassuring and friendly when he assists customers. He’s also a reliable source of information and an advocate for Transportation Services policies. Delling handles conflict in a respectful, professional and confident manner. He goes above and beyond normal customer service duties, including helping individuals navigate the parking portal website and creating how-to videos. Delling shows he cares about his co-workers and the university. He’s always eager to volunteer and make his colleagues feel welcome and supported.

Delling’s nominator said, “Andrew is one of the best customer communicators I’ve ever worked with. He talks to people in a way that is very reassuring and friendly. He always represents the department well, both as a reliable source of information to customers and an advocate for our policies. Andrew brings an energy that is instantly uplifting and positive in an environment that is often filled with confused, frustrated and angry customers. It is quite inspiring.” A colleague said, “Everyone he interacts with loves working with him, and customers seek him out. He does lots of public speaking at different KU clubs, and he’s become the face of Parking.”

Name: Angela Dopp
Title: Functional systems manager, Student Lifecycle Technology
Angela Dopp
Angela Dopp

Angela Dopp has worked in various functional systems roles at KU for almost 17 years. She was nominated by her peers from Financial Aid & Scholarships, and her job duties with that department include providing technical support for the setup of financial aid systems in Enroll & Pay, notifying them of upcoming changes and providing major support when systems are updated for new aid years. Dopp is known to work very hard to ensure that systems are set up and tested so that they work as intended and has helped the department through challenges during some difficult times.

Dopp’s peers rely on her expertise, and it has been said that she keeps the Financial Aid & Scholarships group well-informed, including offering solutions for how to handle problems and still get out aid packages to students as quickly as possible. Her colleague describes her as “… Absolutely the ‘go-to’ person for us.” They relayed how the department “relies on her so much to ensure that our systems are ready to process the tens of thousands of FAFSAs we receive each year. …we absolutely could not do this without Angie. Even though she works in a different department, we definitely feel like she is part of ‘our’ team.”

Dopp’s nominator said, “Angie and I have had many Teams calls to log in to systems together to figure out why we haven't received FAFSAs we should have. While we were both extremely busy and frustrated, she never gave up trying to figure things out. In the end, Angie's expertise allowed us to fix the issue and get the data we needed. And once we had the data (which meant a lot of files to review), she helped with automating the review to the greatest extent possible, thus saving me time. She's always willing to help everyone on our team, and we are so grateful for Angie!”
