List 3 – Two-column List


Description

This section has two columns of lists with a headline, links and short text. An optional headline is available on the second column.

Fields and Character Limits

Headline

  • Character limit: Recommended limit of 40 characters including spaces.
  • Help Text: Enter the headline text. There is a recommended limit of 40 characters including spaces. This field renders as an <h2>. See Headers for guidelines and best practices for headlines and sub-headlines.

LinkURL

  • Help text: Start typing the title of a piece of content to select it. You can also enter an internal path such as /node/add or an external URL such as http://example.com. Enter <front> to link to the front page. Enter <nolink> to display link text only.

Link text

  • Character limits: Recommended limit of 80 characters including spaces.
  • Help text: Enter the link text. Avoid link text like Click Here, Learn More and More. See Links for more info, including accessibility concerns, examples and best practices.

Short Text

  • Character limit: Recommended limit of 475 characters including spaces.
  • Help text: Enter the short text. There is a limit of 475 characters including spaces.

Using on a cloneable Template

  1. Locate List 3 – Two-column List in the Body section
  2. Select Edit
  3. Replace the placeholder Headline, URL, Link text and Short Text for each list item you’d like to add
  4. Select the Add List Item button if you need more List Item fields
  5. Select the Remove button for each List Item you want to remove
  6. Select Save at the bottom left of the form

Adding to a new Content or Landing Page

  1. In the Body area, select Add Body Section
  2. Select List 3 – Two-column List, select Add

  3. Enter the Headline
  4. In the List Item section, enter the URL, Link text and Short Text
  5. Select Add List Item for each link that you’d like to add

  • NOTE: The list items will flow into a second column

  2. Select either Save as Draft or Published with the drop-down menu
  3. Select Save at the bottom left of the form

Accessibility

  • Use the arrow cross on the left of each list item to drag and reorder your list items.
  • Avoid link text like Click Here, Learn More and More. See Links for more info, including accessibility concerns, examples and best practices.

Guidelines and Best Practices

  • For the best user experience, be certain that you have a clear and concise Section Headline.
  • When only one column/section headline is used, items will still divide into two separate columns. The first half of the items will appear in the first column and the second half of the items will populate in the second column.
  • Use this list to show a few highlights from other groups of content on your site.

Removing a Section

To permanently remove a section from a page:

  1. Select the vertical ellipsis to the right of the Edit button at the top-right of your section, select Remove

  2. Select Save at the bottom left of the form
