Request for CMS Site Approval

Please submit this form when you are finished building your CMS website and are ready for your site to go live. Please allow 30 days for your site to be reviewed.

Please review your CMS website and complete the following checklist. You must be able to answer "yes" to all applicable questions before your site can go live.

The CMS KU Template block regions are unaltered with the exception of the Unit/Department Sidebar *
The following blocks are within the Unit/Department Sidebar and appear on every page: “Why KU”, Far Above, KU Today *
There is a Contact page, which links to the Contact link in the footer *
The contact information in the footer contains: The street address, An email address, A phone number *
The site has a header image either provided by Marketing Communications or created using the Photoshop header template *
The site title is readable on all devices *
Standard navigation is maintained for academic units or has been approved by Marketing and Communications *
Non-academic unit navigation contains if applicable: About, People, Resources *
The width of the top and second level navigation fits on a single line and does not wrap to a second line on computer and tablet devices *
All navigational links that take the site visitor to another website include the HTML entity » which appears as » following the link *
Links to files contain the file type following the linked text: (pdf) (doc) etc. *
All URL links open in the same window *
All links on the site have been checked and function properly *
All email links show the email address: xxxxx@ku.edu *
All images in each slideshow are the same dimension and fill the page the slideshow is placed on horizontally *
All images utilize alternative text for ADA compliance *
All phone numbers are formatted: xxx-xxx-xxxx *
Academic unit sites contain degree information using the Degree — Add a Degree, and Degree — General Content, content types *
Degrees abbreviations follow established degree standards: BA, MS, PhD etc *
Degree — General Content pages contain: An overview of the degree, Admission information, Curriculum, Information about careers *
Information pertaining to all degrees offered resides in the Academics section *
All person profiles are either created using the People content type or are imported from Faculty Pro *
Please allow 30 days for your site to be reviewed.
