Content Editor (WYSIWYG)

In the Content Management System (CMS), you will be presented with a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor for working with page content. Typical page content includes; text, graphics, hyperlinks and audio/video media.

In addition, the editor allows you to do some basic formatting.

Note: For advanced formatting it will be necessary to code using Cascading Style Sheets or CSS.

Below are the descriptions of the features available using the WYSIWYG editor:

Text Options: Format bar
Bold Italic Underline Strike Through Apply bold, italic, underline or strike-through formatting to the text.
Align Left  Center Align Right Justify‎ Set text alignment (left, centered, right or justified).
Insert/Remove Numbered List Insert/Remove Bulleted List Create a numbered or bulleted list.
Decrease Indent  Increase Indent Increase or decrease text indentation.
Undo and Redo buttons Undo or redo the most recent action performed.
Superscript Subscript Apply superscript or subscript formatting to the text.
Block Quote Format a block of text as an indented quotation.
 Cut Cut the selected text to the clipboard.
Copy Copy the selected text to the clipboard.
Paste from Word Use when pasting content copied from Microsoft Word or similar applications. This feature will maintain most of the original formatting while also removing erroneous code.
Remove Format Remove the formatting of the selected text.
Insert Special Character Insert a special character or symbol.
Format Apply pre-defined block-level combinations of various formatting options to specific paragraphs.
Source Code View or edit the HTML source code of the document (for advanced users).
Creating Hyperlinks: Link bar
 Link  Unlink Create or remove a hyperlink for text or image.
Anchor Insert a link anchor to a “jump” to a specific location on the page.
Inserting Images:  
Insert image Insert and upload image for your document. For more information about managing images, see the How To Guide: Images
Additional Options: Additional options
Table Create a table with the defined number of columns and rows.
Replace Find and replace a word or phrase in the document.
Create Div Container Create a new div element in document source.
Maximize Maximize the editor in the browser window.
Spell Check As You Type Check spelling of the document text or turn on the Spell Check As You Type (SCAYT) feature.
Embed code Insert the embed code for media from other systems.
